While the rest of the nation sleeps off a big New Years Eve, Perth comes alive for The BMW Perth Cup. On January 1 2007, more than 40,000 punters will converge on Ascot Race Course. Weeks of preparation go in to dress design, new hair do’s, manicures and pedicures and if needed, booking that all important babysitter to make sure you don’t miss out on the best day of the year.
Some will do it in style, while others will do it hard in the General Admission Area. Tentland, the grassed area now covered in big tents located along the final straight will house some 12,000 punters and will certainly live up to its “House of Fun Reputation”.
Ten years on, the now famous Loungeroom raised the bar by offering a huge after party that has set the benchmark for fellow Tentland organisers. This year, we believe that we have created a worthy successor to the title of “The Perth Cup’s most stylish tent”.
History predicts that the day will be hot, the fashion revealing and what was a dry grass paddock just a few weeks ago will be transformed into the hottest Party precinct in Australia for the day – welcome to Tentland at the BMW Perth Cup 2007.
Tentland is about corporate style hospitality for 21 to 35 year olds – exclusive in its basic form and unbelievable when it’s done well. It’s here that we put in a plug for our new baby – the most talked about venue in Tentland the uber-exclusive MRQ

Yes that’s right, it’s on January 1st and starts before lunch time! This year the gates will open at 10.00am but those experienced campaigners probably wont get there till closer till midday when the complimentary catering begins.
For the record, the day is scheduled to finish at 8.00pm and that makes it a really long day in a pair of heels.
The art of doing Perth Cup stylishly is to take it easy with the free vino and pace yourself by partaking in the occasional complimentary bottled water, juice or coffee. Remember Tentland keeps going when the last race has been called so keep with you friends and don’t peak too early!
This year the total number of tickets available in Tentland has been reduced by around 35% from 18,000 last year down to around 12,000 this year. This is a good thing as it will make the event safer and more glamorous than ever. Unfortunately, it will also make it harder to get a ticket.
Here’s some more good news – this year all Marquee’s in Tentland have the same opening and closing times, menu and beverage package. That’s right, they’re all exactly the same, no exceptions so when picking which tent is right for you the rules have changed!!
