Useful Info

Details

The BMW Perth Cup will be run on Friday January 1st, 2010 with MRQ opening from 11am - 6.30pm.

As an Ascot destination, MRQ is unlike any other as it offers guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy the festivities in absolute style. Perfect for those who prefer a more refined setting.

Menu

Rather than being restricted to a sit-down meal or the confusion of a buffet, guests will be treated to a sumptuous menu of cocktail-style foods served throughout the day.

Guests will also enjoy our beverage package including premium beers, quality bottled wines and poured spirits (from 12.00pm - 5.00pm).

Food and beverage menus will be available to download from the website shortly, please check back soon.

Entertainment

The Perth Cup at MRQ is a day full of captivating theatre, art and fashion. Set to an ambient soundtrack, guests are invited to take in the entertainment offered within the marquee and the surrounding gardens and alfresco areas.

Premium trackside seating is available to view the race program or guests can watch all the action on a big screen in air-conditioned comfort. Fashion parades and performances will take place around the venue at various times of the day and VIP entry to the famous Lounge is also included.

Dress Code

MRQ is the most stylish and exclusive venue at Ascot and as such we require all guests to dress accordingly.

As a minimum, Perth Racing require gentlemen to wear tailored pants, a dress shirt and fully closed shoes while ladies are required to wear an appropriate dress or a tailored pant and top/shirt style outfit. The organisers of MRQ would however encourage all gentlemen to, weather permitting, wear a suit (tie optional) and all of our female guests to wear fabulous race day attire (hat optional)

Denim, shorts, singlets, jeans, t-shirts, thongs and sandals are not acceptable attire.

Getting there and back

A special day deserves an equally special ending so we suggest guests organise a Limousine to get them safely home. Experience has shown that public transport and taxi’s are unreliable and this experience can spoil an otherwise fantastic day. Alternatively, in conjunction with our good friends at Eurobar, we offer a bus service to Northbridge at the completion of the day.

On Arrival

The racecourse has several entrances but this year MRQ guests will need to use the Ledger gate. The Ledger gate is located about 150m north (towards the river) of the main gate on Grandstand road.

As we’ve upgraded and simplified our ticketing system, this year, all you need is a bar coded ticket. When your ticket is scanned at the ledger gate you’ll be provided with all the necessary accreditation you need to come and go as you please. No mail outs and no need to pick up tickets from an office – easy!

Visiting friends

MRQ guests have exclusive access to a variety of areas within Ascot. These include: Racecourse main, the general admission area and the famous Lounge (Perth Cup Day only). The MRQ ticket enables guests to experience the sights and sounds of the day, coming and going as they please.
